Why
Identification made easy
An important step in any payment is figuring out who wants to pay. This has previously been done with checks, plastic cards and phones; FacePay is the next natural evolution. By utilising what you always carry with you; yourself, FacePay allows for secure identification and payments without you having to carry anything at all. FacePay is currently undergoing live testing in closed environments, but may soon be available as a payment method for all.
What
Based on biometrics
As a customer, you simply register once on our online registration page, and then you’re ready to use FacePay anywhere. As a merchant, you can use our REST Apis to enable FacePay in your existing systems easily. All that’s needed for either is a standard camera, such as that on your phone, or one you buy in any electronics shop. When FacePay goes live, you can expect the same security and stability that you are used to from other Nets products.

Facial recognition and payments
Using state of the art facial recognition algorithms, FacePay registers your unique facial features and stores them in a way where they can’t be reverse engineered into your face again. When you get identified, the same engine will quickly and confidently recognise you, and make sure that it is actually you in front of the camera, and not an imposted; all from that single still image.
You might then be prompted for you PIN, depending on the situation, and the store’s implementation of FacePay, but don’t worry; FacePay always has Nets’ well known stability and security.
While being able to pay is at the core of the current solution, FacePay is designed in a way that makes it easy to later create new use cases, making FacePay the first step in a convenient and secure biometric platform.
